ABOUT US

what the heck does "blue virtu" mean??

our name blossomed from the melding of the deep significance behind the Machiavellian concept “virtù” and the profound traits of the color blue. virtù is the idea that individuals forge their own destiny through human energy and action, the same impassioned spirit reflected by the creators in our collective. we seek to empower people to be non-conforming imaginists, open thinkers, and resilient intellectuals

——attributes that are associated to the color blue.

the fusion of these two elements brought Blue Virtu to life.

through

 our MISSION is . . .

to empower people of color through artists of color via a creative space that fosters a multicultural appreciation of the human condition

 &+ why?

it only takes one glance upstream from the ever flowing river of history to see that our collective past has been muted by the lack of representation for people of color. thus, we make it our mission to showcase the eye-opening stories of people of color in our literary collective and to spread their creative influence globally.

we are determined not to simply make a mark in the sand, but to irrevocably chisel the rock of the future with the faces and ideas of our contributors———to forever highlight the unapologetically raw perspectives, struggles, and narratives unaccounted for in mainstream media.

though the river behind us remains unchanged, there exists a limitless frontier of opportunity before us to cultivate creative equality.
